The IPS(WA) Solidarity Fund, SOLIPS, was founded on 18 October 2003 with the aim of :

• financially assisting employees of Institution companies who are totally or partially incapacitated and no longer able to work,
• establishing and funding screening and prevention programmes for HIV/AIDS, malaria and TB in IPS(WA) and AKDN Côte d’Ivoire companies, including education, training and information initiatives,
• providing care for sick workers by funding treatment, biomonitoring and psychological and social assistance.

In addition to these initiatives, Ivoire Coton has implemented a major programme to improve the living conditions of farmers in the areas where it operates, specifically in the fields of :

• health,
• education,
• and micro-credit.

SOLIPS’ initiatives are supported by its partners: DEG (the German finance agency), CECI (Côte d’Ivoire private sector business coalition against AIDS), the Ministry for the fight against AIDS, the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene, CNTS (national blood transfusion centre) and AKF.

SOLIPS also operates in IPS companies in Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal.
